Shirley Lee Bostick Bland

Shirley Lee Bostick Bland 66, of Post died Monday Nov. 14, 2011 at her home. 
 
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday Nov. 17, 2011 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. John Bill Hedrick and Rev. Scott Richards officiating.  Burial will follow in the Terrace Cemetery.    Arrangements were under the personal care of Dee and Janet Justice, Justice-Mason Funeral Home.
 
Shirley was born to Frank and Ruby (Nelson) Bostick in Lubbock.  She and her family lived in Lubbock, Bronco and Close City.  She went to school at Close City and graduated Post High School.  She married Joe John Bland June 4, 1964 at the First Baptist Church in Post.  Shirley and John made their first home in the Barnum Springs area and farmed and ranched.  Over the years she worked for Maxine’s Dress Shop, Golden Age Nursing Home and then for Post ISD as a bus driver, teachers aide and as a secretary.  She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Debbie Lynn Bostick.  She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Post.
 
Survivors include her husband, John Bland of Post; four sons: John Michael and his wife Tammy of Post, Kelly Lance and his wife Tina Bland of Acuff, JoJon Jarrett Bland of Post, and Jeremy Landon Bland of Roosevelt; a daughter, Tanya Lynn (Bland) and her husband Danny Vernon of Post; a brother, Danny Frank and his wife Sharon Bostick of Waco; a sister, Sandra Bostick Scrivner of Cypress; 10 grandchildren: Colt Bland Vernon, Kadie Lynn Vernon, D'Nae Nicholle Johnson, Keylan Blayne Williams, Rhaeden Dyce Bland, Kacy Brooke Bland, Kutter Bryce Bland, Maegen Brenae Bland, Cooper Boyd Bland and Diggs McCoy Bland; four nephews: Randall Bostick, Stephen Bostick, Barrett Scrivner and Gregory Scrivner; three uncles: Arlie and his wife Donnie Nelson of Post, Billy Bostick of Amarillo and Ernest and his wife Joann Bostick of Carlsbad, New Mexico and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be: Ricky Bostick, J.W. Gray, Randy Littrell, Ervin Howell, Jay Christian, Bill Bland and Leroy Bostick.
 
Memorials are suggested to a favorite charity or other organization.
 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
