Team captains enter field against Slaton.

Slaton Dominates the Lopes, 41-0

Post JV loses close game

Published Sept. 9, 2011 @ 11:35 p.m.

The Post Antelopes never got their offense going in the first home game of the season against arch rival Slaton in a 41-0 shutout at Jimmie Redman Memorial Stadium on Friday night.

The Tigers' spread offense was too much for the Bold Gold to cover as Slaton gathered 450 yards of total offense on the night.  Quarterback Harrison Schaefer passed for 171 yards while he and his running backs tacked on another 279 yards on the ground as they delivered a balanced offensive attack.

Slaton of District 1-2A, Division I, improved to 2-1 on the season and Post is now 1-2 in pre-district play.

Freshman Bryan Smith was the leading rusher for the Lopes carrying the ball 12 times for 51 yards.  Slaton's top rusher was Clint Martin who ran for 142 yards on 11 carries for an average of 12.9 yards a touch.

The game was carried on Post Sports Radio.  The webcast crew voted to name safety Steven Howard the Post Insurance "Antelope of the Game" honor for his five tackles and never give up attitude and effort.
