Gary 'Bada' Cleveland, 1954 - 2012

Gary  ‘Bada’ Cleveland, 57 of Lubbock died Monday, February 27, 2012 at University Medical Center.  Gary was born March 14, 1954  to William H. and Rita M. (Hunter) Cleveland at Saugus, Massachusetts.  He attended school there and in 1979 came to Lubbock to run the family business: Mr. C’s Subway Shop.  Later he worked as a surveyor and later for the City of Lubbock.  He worked there until his health failed.  He is preceded in death by his father and step-mother Carolyn Cleveland.  Gary was a member of the Parkway Church of Christ in Lubbock. Gary loved spending time with his grandchildren and was known to them as ‘Buda’.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter: Amy Cleveland Nuñez and her husband Anthony.  His mother: Rita M. Cleveland of Lyn, Massachusetts. One brother: Billy Cleveland of Florida.  Two half-sisters: Shelly Cleveland of Houston and Susan Cleveland of Dallas.  Two grandchildren: Brooklyn Madison Nuñez and Dallas Anthony Nuñez.

Services for Gary will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Post Church of Christ with Ron Guzman and Monty Huffman of the Parkway Church of Christ officiating.  Burial will follow in the Terrace Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the personal care of Dee and Janet Justice, Justice-Mason Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: John Valdez, Mark Valdez, Rodney Lewis, Bobby Castillo, Jimmie Valdez and David Perez.
