Commissioners Consider Brief Agenda

Regular meeting Feb. 27

A regular meeting of the Commissioners’ Court of Garza County, Texas was held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

Minutes from the February 13, 2012 regular meeting, the February 15, 2012 special meeting and the February 22, 2012 were approved as presented.  A report from Garza Wildlife Damage Association was provided to the Court.  Precinct and countywide accounts payable for February 14 through February 27 were approved as presented.  There were no budget amendments or line item transfers.

The Commissioners voted to reject bids received from ASCO Equipment for a used maintainer for Commissioner Precinct 4.

Trevor Thuett, Republican Party chair and Bebe Boren, Democratic Party Chair and Clerk Plummer explained that, the original resolution for the March 6, 2012 election date must be re-done to accommodate a later date due to the unresolved redistricting matter.  The chairs of the two parties of Garza County plan to enter into contracts with the clerk to conduct their Primary Elections.  Both chairs encouraged the court to pass a resolution to hold a Primary Joint Election on or after May 29, 2012.  The Court approved the resolution.

Glen Killough, of Natural Resources Conservation Service appeared before the Court to explain that an engineer would be surveying County Road 386 and asked for approval for application for Emergency Water Shed Program.  The Commissioners voted to approve the application.

Commissioners Court meets again Monday, March 12.
