Fogerson Announces for County Commissioner

Published May 2, 2012 @ 11:01 p.m.

I am Jerry Fogerson, a twenty-five year resident of Garza County, and I am seeking your support in the 2012 election for County Commissioner, Precinct 1.  I am a retired teacher who is clearly familiar with the financial crisis that public service entities currently face, and I would like the opportunity to represent the residents of this precinct and serve as a voice that will support cost-effective initiatives without compromising the level of services to which Garza County residents are entitled.

My campaign slogan focuses on my commitment to provide dependable representation for all.  I am committed to being a consistent presence in the community by being available to hear the needs and concerns of the residents whom I would represent.  I pledge not only to maintain the roads and right of ways, but also to make as many additional improvements as resources allow during times of economic difficulties.

As conscientious voters, you may be concerned about my qualifications.  While I have recently retired from a 25-year career as a teacher, I managed and operated a construction business for over 15 years prior to becoming an educator.  I have a solid background in budget and finance; I have supervised work crews, and I have hands-on experience doing the many tasks that any construction laborer would do.

I will work for you because I am invested in this community, and I am committed in my desire to advocate on behalf of everyone in this precinct.  Your support would be greatly appreciated!
