With the two week Early Voting period in the bag, Garza County registered voters who had not voted yet have a final chance to cast a ballot on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at their precinct polling location. The voting precincts are noted on the voter registration card. The six polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Election Day and are located throughout the county as follows:

Precinct 5 - Southland School, Superintendent’s Office, 190 8th Street, Southland
Precinct 6 - Lake Alan Henry Fire Station, 2699 FM 3519, Justiceburg
Most of Garza County voters will have the opportunity to cast a General Election ballot along with the Post Independent School District’s Bond Election ballot. Those eligible to vote the PISD balllot must reside in the districts boundaries and be a registered voter.
The General Election ballot is to elect presidential electors, members of congress, members of the legislature, and state, district, county and precinct officers.
The only contested local race on the General Election ballot is for the Precinct 3 County Commissioner seat. Incumbent Ted A. Brannon (Republican) and former commissioner and challenger John Valdez (Democrat) are on the ballot for that position.
There were 876 early voters at the courthouse for the General Election and 765 for the Post ISD Bond Election.
Other pertinent voter information including sample ballots can be seen on the Garza County web site, www.GarzaCounty.net. Sample ballots are also available at the Clerk’s office at the courthouse.
