Post JH Dominates Tulia

8th Grade:  POST 38, TULIA 6 (10/18/12)

By Paxton Nava - The Post Bold Gold faced the Tulia Hornets on October 18 winning big 38 to 6. 

Auggie Menchaca ran nine times for 128 yards and for three 2-point conversions.  AJ reed also did good running 5 times for 121 yards for 2 touchdowns.

Everybody on defense was doing terrific with Menchaca getting five tackles and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.  Colton "Bull" Smith got 4 tackles in the win.

This Thursday the 8th grade team faces the Floydada Whirlwinds at home starting at 7:00 p.m. in another district match-up.

7th Grade:  POST 26, TULIA 0 (10/18/12)

By Paxton Nava - The Post Middle School 7th grade faced Tulia for another district game. On offense Aric Garza was 1 for 1 in passing and it was for a touchdown. 

Mike Phergson ran five times for 125 yards in the win against the Hornets.  Chance Courtney also got a touchdown on a catch for 51 yards. 

On defense Damian Garcia got three tackles and an interception.  Phergson got 4 tackles. 

Post Middle School 7th grade came out on top 26-0.    

Thursday the 7th grade Lopes take on the Floydada Whirlwinds at 5:45 p.m. at the Redman looking for another district win.

B-Team:  HAMLIN 7th Grade A-TEAM 34, POST B-TEAM 0 (10/18/12)

Coach Jimmy Toney - Post won the toss and elected to receive the ball.  Jonathan Rodriguez returned the ball to Hamlin's 30 yard line. Post then drove the ball down to the 10 before turning the ball over on downs. 

The Lopes struggled to hold on to the ball, fumbling it five times throughout the night. 

Isaac Soto and Zerek Gonzales both caught 10 yard passes from Kobe Ammons for first downs. 

Justin Romero and Pete Lazcano both played big on defense the second half. 

Turn overs and short field for Hamlin caused the Bold Gold B- team to struggle all night.

The Post captains were Isaac Gonzales, Cord Isbell and Jesus Jimenez.

The B-team will play Slaton here on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
