"Meet the Lopes has been rescheduled for Monday, August 22 @ 7:30 pm," according to Antelope Booster Club president Greg Jones. Initially, the event was set for this Saturday at 1:00 PM after the scrimmage against Ralls.
The Antelope's first scrimmage is still set for this Saturday, August 13, 10:00 am here at Jimmie Redman Memorial Stadium.
At the August 22 event, high school athletes, coaches and cheerleaders will be introduced. They will also enjoy complimentary Blue Bell ice cream. "The booster club will be selling ½ pint ice cream, as we did last year, for $1.00 per cup" to the general public said Jones.
The concession stand will be serving other food and drink items. Also, the booster club trailer will be open for business selling new spirit items such as t-shirts, caps and more.
A new inflatable entrance tunnel with a Bold Gold helmet which stands 20 feet tall will be debuted at Meet the Lopes. Jones explained that the booster club is selling advertising spots on the side of the tunnel. Some sponsorships have been sold and there is still room for more sponsors.
At a later date, the booster club will hold a special event to introduce the junior high teams and cheerleaders.
