 Services for Ethel Harper, 85, of Post will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Arthur Kelly officiating. Burial in Terrace Cemetery will be under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.

She died Thursday, September 15, 2011 in Post. She was born November 28, 1925 in LaVaca County to Robert and Iona Mae Greathouse. She married Cleve Harper on January 25, 1947 in Gonzales County. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1989. Mrs.  Harper was a loyal member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church where she was an usher and also worked with the youth.

Survivors include a daughter, Willie Egbert of Post; three sons: Charles Harper of Lubbock, Gilbert Harper of Amarillo and Wilbert Harper of Lubbock; a sister, Rosella Price of Shiner; 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son: Earl Harper Sr. on July 11, 2011.
