Tuesday, September 20th, fans of Post's start-up volleyball program came out to the Antelope Arena to enjoy a night of bumps, sets, digs, food and fun while raising a needed cash for the Lady Lopes.
According to Coach Charlyn Hohman, the night raised over $5000. The silent auction, featuring retail merchandise, gift certificates and baked goods, brought in about $1700 alone. The rest was generated from gate receipts and a live auction.
Coach Hohman expects the funds to help "purchase about 30 pairs of active ankles for the high school, game shirts for the Dig Pink game, a volleyball stats program, and volleyballs."
The crowd of about 400 enjoyed the evening which pitted the junior high squads against each other and then the faculty with ringers took on the high school Lady Lopes. The older team won the match 2 games to 1.
Harry Record served as the event's public address announcer and Morgan Deen kept the scoreboard.
The night concluded with the announcement of those who won the silent auction and bidding during the live auction which included one day services of the middle school and high school principals, Mr. Marvin Self and Mr. John Berry. Self attracted $130 and Berry brought in $330 for the cause.
