A special service was held Sunday, April 22 to recognize the graduating seniors of the Post Community Youth Group during a traditional service with a big twist of youth.
The worship service at the Post First United Methodist Church was organized and conducted by the high school youth group as special recognition was shown to seniors Skylar Jones, Becca Fannon, Melissa Whitehead, Chelsea Nolen, Madison Cash, Jordan Aguilar, Shirley Araiza and Parker Loftus. Members of the group not in attendance were Jacob Perez, Dakota McDonald and Dale Diaz.
Becca Fannon delivered the Call to Worship, Pake Jones collected the concerns and joys and Taylor Osborn and Matti Smith ministered to the young children. Smith also offered the pastoral prayer, Shirley Araiza led the Lord's prayer, and Dalton Holly and Adam Smith brought the message to the congregation.
Intermittently throughout the service, the high school students delivered their personal life verses from the bible.
A variety of music was offered including the FUMC Covenant Ringers bell choir, Ben Miller and Bobby Blair played guitars and sang and Skylar Jones treated everyone by singing Addison Road's 'Hope Now'. The bell choir was accompanied on 'Meditation' and 'You Alone are Holy' by former PHS and now Texas Tech student Darlene Araiza on the flute.
After Miller and Blair led the congregation in 'Amazing Grace', Madison Cash closed the service with the benediction.
