Fumble Mishap gives Post JV First Loss
7th & 8th grade teams win

Coach Jerry Pyles - The Post Bold Gold Junior Varsity (4-1) lost a close game to the Denver City JV, Thursday, 9-8. This was a hard fought game, we just ended up a little short.
The Mustangs scored first and added a PAT, DC was up 7-0. Post quickly responded. The Bold Gold offense took the ball down the field, Cambry Gilbert scored from 35 yards out to put Post within one point 7-6. Post would take the lead 8-6 as Jarred Curtis ran into the endzone for a two point play.
The score remained 8-6 at halftime.
DC scored the only points of the second half. The Bold Gold Defense held DC on downs inside the Antelope five yard line. Three plays later the ball came loose in the end zone. Post would recover but the Mustangs scored a safety to take a 9-8 lead.
Both Defense's played the 4th quarter very stingy. An Antelope pass was incomplete on 4th and 12 yard for a first, therefore giving the Mustangs possession. Post was out of timeouts and DC was able to run out the clock.
Post JV is off this Thursday, Oct 4. but will return on Oct.11 to take on Roosevelt at Jimmy Redman Stadium for a 6:00 p.m. kickoff.
