Animal Refuge Center Hosts Open House on Saturday

Published Oct. 3, 2012 @ 6 a.m.

The Post Animal Refuge Center (PARC) is hosting an Open House at the animal shelter on Saturday, October 6, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.  There will be free food beginning at 4:00 and at 5:00 a drawing for prizes including United Gift cards and spay-neuter coupons.

PARC is a 501 (c) 3 organization that was formed by a group of local individuals almost 3 years ago.  To date they have adopted 200 animals all of which have been spayed or neutered.  The shelter is supported by donations and grants and is run by local volunteers.  The group is also in its second year of programs with the Life Skills classes at Post ISD and the Garza County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

According to a PARC representative, members of the public are welcome to come out on October 6, meet the dogs and tour the facility.
