White River Week of Prayer
Published April 13, 2012 @ 6 a.m.
At the March 20th 2012 White River Board of Directors Meeting, the honorable members of this board unanimously agreed to issue a proclamation for prayer for the week of April 15th thru April 21st 2012.
It would be greatly appreciated if all citizens of the three counties and four towns served by White River Municipal Water District would set aside time to pray for rain, the replenishment of our drinking water sources, and for wisdom and guidance in the management of our present and future water needs.
A special thanks from the White River Board of Directors.
White River Municipal Water District
Whereas, the recent drought has devastated our region economically, and has affected each business,
community and family in some way; the need for rain is an intense craving felt by all of the communities
and citizens of the South Plains;
Whereas, the Lord; proclaims in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 " When I shut up the heavens so that there is no
rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are
called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked way,
then will I hear from heaven forgive their sin and will heal their land"; and
Whereas Philippians 4:6 commands us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer
and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" and
Whereas the South Plains should join together praying that God will grant us provision of water to fill our
creeks, streams, lakes and reservoirs in the right amounts at the right time; and
Whereas it is appropriate for White River Municipal Water District Board of Directors
communities we serve the value of corporate prayer,
Now, therefore, we the Board of White River Municipal Water District do support a Week of Prayer and
fasting for rain on the South Plains for April 15-21, 2012 by signing this proclamation on March 8, 2012.
Resolved this day March 8, 2012 by the Board of Directors for White River Municipal Water District.
