Vibes has been on Main Street in Post for more than 20 years offering 24 hour access to locals who seek to keep in good physical shape.
When KCBD Newschannel 11 decided to come to Post for it's 2012 Community Coverage Tour, it was decided to do a story on the fitness and tanning facility owned and operated by Rhonda Storie Norman.
Last Friday news anchor Karen McCay brought a photographer to shoot footage for her Healthwise segment scheduled to air tonight during the 10:00 newscast. "She spent about 30 minutes taping our workouts," said Norman. She said that McCay had to interview her twice because the microphone wasn't working the first time.
The Vibes owner held a special event and invited her regular customers to celebrate Vibes' anniversary and to be part of the television story. At the event last Friday prizes were offered to the attendees. Those included a Vera Bradley bag, a Sassy Sunflower centerpiece, an Avon goodie basket, a Close City goodie basket and Vibes tanning and workout memberships. Subway Sandwiches catered the food and United provided the drinks. Shane Frankl, Dr. Ben Edwards nurse practitioner, spoke on eating clean and losing stubborn pounds.
In addition to broadcasting the 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm newscasts live from the Post City Park, KCBD invites the public to enjoy a free dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. followed by the opportunity to meet and socialize with NewsChannel 11 Anchors McCay, Abner Euresti, John Robison, and Pete Christy.
Other feature stories expected on Thursday's newscasts include Ragtown Gospel Theater, the Garza County Historical Museum,J. Cruse Christmas Gallery and the Bold Gold Antelopes.
