The Commissioners’ Court of Garza County approved a $5262.80 amendment to the county budget which was necessary to meet the amended Garza Appraisal District budget previously approved by the court at the February 13, 2012 meeting. The funds will come from the reserves of the general fund. The additional money will be added to the county's current quarterly payment to the appraisal district.
Also decided at the regular meeting on June 25, 2012 at the courthouse, the court agreed to submit a request to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts for a refund of unclaimed capital credits under the Texas Property Code, Section 74.602. The amount requested is $1761.53.
The court passed a resolution making it mandatory for agencies to notify the Emergency Management Coordinator whenever an emergency type incident occurs.
A burn ban was considered but the commissioners felt it was unwarranted at this time and will reconsider at the next regular meeting on July 9.
In other action, the court approved the minutes from the June 4 meeting, the reports from county offices, accounts payable and two line item transfers.
